HDSA Los Angeles Social Worker

Angie Valdivia’s social work practice includes working as a child welfare social worker, medical social worker (at an in-patient hospital) and clinical social worker within a neurology department. She has worked with individuals and families who are struggling with loss, grief, substance abuse and mental health crisis. Angie’s practice has included assessing and planning for safety, care coordination, hospital discharge planning, educating on mental health resources, and connecting individuals with community resources. Angie will be facilitating HDSA support groups and providing support to our HDSA Los Angeles Chapter community members.

Currently, she is a CA Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW) and is in the processing of completing her clinical hours to become eligible to be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Angie is passionate about being part of the HDSA community and providing support to those being impacted by HD. Angie is bilingual and will able to provide support to our monolingual Spanish speaking HDSA members.
